How to book

If you are a student looking to live in our studios while you study in Sheffield, follow these simple steps to book your apartment:

FAQs

• When will you be taking bookings for studios?
• We are taking bookings now! We have apartments available to book for the 2018-19 academic year. Go to the online application form to make your booking.
• What will be included in my rent?
• Utility bills and high speed internet: All utility bills including electricity, gas and water will be included in your rent. Your rent will also include high speed broadband with WiFi, with up to 600Mbps download speed.
• Kitchen facilities: Everything you need to cook a meal will be provided in your studio. All kitchen areas will include cupboard space, a two-ring hob, combination microwave oven, fridge with a freezer compartment, toaster and kettle. There will also be a dining table with two chairs or stools.
• Double Bed: At New Era Square we want to give you all the space you need, so your studio will have a UK full-size double bed, which is 137cm wide x 190cm long.
• Smart TV: Every studio will have a smart TV. Please note, we do not include a TV licence. UK law states that if you plug in to watch or record live TV on any channel, or if you intend to use BBC iPlayer, you will need to purchase a TV licence. You can find out more and pay for a TV licence at: www.tvlicensing.co.uk/student-tv-licence.
• En suite: each apartment has its own en suite shower room and Premier Studios have an even larger, wet-room style en suite.
• What social or communal areas will there be in the accommodation?
• For the 2018-2019 academic year there will be a common room with a range of modern features and facilities, including a lounge and games area, quiet study room, gym and cinema room. 
• I'm worried about the distance; will there be transport to university?
• Yes, from the 2018-2019 academic year onward we will provide a shuttle bus service, free to tenants. Your shuttle bus service will go from New Era Student Living to both Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Sheffield.
• Will there be laundry facilities?
• Yes - there will be a launderette on site for all tenants to use. 
• Will there be somebody on site to help me during the day?
• Yes, at New Era Student Living we want to help you to be carefree while you concentrate on your studies. That is why our receptionists will be here daily from 8am to 8pm to greet you, answer any questions or worries and accept parcels on your behalf.
• There will be 24 hour security via CCTV and key fob access to the building, so you can rest assured you are being well taken care of.
• From the 2018-2019 academic year, there will be accommodation or security staff on site 24/7.
• Can I live here while on an internship/work placement year?
• We welcome all registered students to come and live at New Era Student Living, whether you are studying this year or completing your work placement year as part of your degree.
• Are there shorter contracts available for Study Abroad / ERASMUS students?
• There are shorter contracts (Minimum 4 weeks) available for students who would like accommodation in 2018, perfect if you will be coming to Sheffield for an IELTS English language course with the University of Sheffield's English Language Teaching Centre (ELTC). Our short-term contracts are subject to an extra £10 per week rental charge.
• If you sign a tenancy agreement for a short term contract between 25th May and 27th August 2018 AND follow this with a long term contract for the 2018-19 academic year, you may be eligible for our special discount offer - ask a member of staff for more details.
• What are the payment dates for paying my rent?
• For our standard length 44 and 51 week contracts you can choose one of three different payment plans. In all payment plans, the first rent payment must be made before your contract start date.
• (1) Pay your total rent in full, in advance for peace of mind, and you could be eligible for our special discount offer.
• (2) Pay in 3 instalments, spread out across the year [August, January and April] (only with UK guarantor).

• Is there a deposit or booking fee to pay?
• There will be a deposit, which will be £350 for a studio; £450 for a One Bed Apartment or £600 for a Two Bed Apartment. This will be protected for you with the Deposit Protection Scheme (DPS) and refunded to you at the end of your tenancy, minus any necessary damage or cleaning charges.
• We won't charge you any additional booking fees at New Era Student Living.
